Milkpay is a tool designed for calculating payments within the seven United States Federal Milk Marketing Orders (FMMOs) which compensate dairy producers based on specific milk components' weight. This includes Milk Protein, Butterfat, and Other Solids. These Federal Milk Marketing Orders collectively account for 54% of U.S. milk production. The compensation is determined by multiplying the quantity of these components by values established by the Federal Milk Marketing Orders Board. Notably, these values are updated monthly, consistent across the six FMMOs that account for component-based payments. Furthermore, four of these FMMOs offer a premium for maintaining a somatic cell count below 350,000 cells per milliliter.

Producers also receive a monthly producer price differential adjustment from each Federal Milk Marketing Order, updated by the middle of the following month. Each of the six FMMOs has a unique value for this producer price differential.

Milkpay can be seamlessly updated with current prices for components, somatic cell count premiums, and producer price differentials. This enables users to determine the financial value of milk components accurately, facilitating assessments of changes in components and feed costs incrementally. Notably, users can also factor in feed cost variations to calculate Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC) and Return on Investment (ROI) resulting from these adjustments.

The tool allows for comparisons between current and adjusted production figures using metrics such as Fat Corrected Milk, Energy Corrected Milk, and Revenue Corrected Milk calculations which are USDA-based and standardized using specific milk component percentages. All corresponding values are calculated as well.

The results can be conveniently viewed on the interface, emailed, or saved for future reference.
